WELCOME TO BUTLERS COURT SCHOOL
Welcome to our website which tells you about our school and the opportunities for learning we offer to our pupils. I trust that you will enjoy reading the information we have prepared for you which will be updated on a regular basis.
Butlers Court School opened in September 1981. It was an amalgamation of the former First and Middle schools which were built in 1966. The School celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1991 and its 40 year anniversary in 2006. It is housed on a pleasant site with fourteen permanent classrooms, playing fields and pavilion, environmental studies area, greenhouse, multi-purpose hall, craft and cookery rooms and a well stocked library. There is also a purpose built Music Room and a fully networked computer suite with all classrooms connected to the internet and provided with interactive whiteboards.
At Butlers Court School we are committed to providing a high quality education for all our pupils. We offer a well balanced and stimulating curriculum that encourages children to develop a positive attitude to their learning. We set high standards and have high expectations for all our children in their studies and behaviour. We strive to ensure that each pupil is treated with care and sensitivity and that they all learn how to live harmoniously together. They develop as an individual with increasing responsibility towards the school and its community.
We encourage our pupils to develop enquiring minds and to acquire the relevant skills, attitude and knowledge to help them through into adult life. We help them to use language, Mathematics and ICT to communicate effectively. They grow in confidence and develop their talents to the full as well as gaining an understanding of human relationships and respect for others. We also encourage a healthy attitude towards physical activity, diet and emotional well being.
We have well qualified, enthusiastic staff with high teacher expectations and high levels of pupil achievement. The atmosphere at the school is warm and friendly with an ‘it’s cool to learn’ attitude from the children. A wide range of extra curricular activities is offered so that children can further develop their musical, sporting and artistic talents. Parents are closely involved in their child’s education and we are committed to ensuring that children benefit from modern technology. Governors at the school are closely involved in ensuring that our aims and objectives are met and strategy planning ensures high quality resources and facilities for the children in our care.
