'Believe and Achieve Together'
The Year 6 children left a wet Beaconsfield behind for a great trip to Northern France. After crossing the Channel we visited the aquarium in Boulogne before settling into our accommodation on the coast. The next day saw visits to Desvres market and a snail farm where the children tried several recipes after letting them crawl all over their faces and Mr Sutton was treated to a special dish of snails with pate de foie gras and port. The afternoon concluded with an entertaining visit to a chocolate factory. The next day was spent in Boulogne at a sweet factory where there were many children eager to taste the product and then an afternoon on the beach as the sun came out. Paddling in the sea, building sand castles and ice creams were the order of the day. Thursday was a different day as the children responded thoughtfully to our visits to a number of sites from the First World War. Friday concluded with a village study and exploring a hyper market. The children were well behaved and a delight to be away with for the week while many parents commented how much they seemed to have grown during the week and developed a little bit more independence.
