Butlers Court School

'Believe and Achieve Together'

Year 6 Football

The Year 6 football team started their league campaign this half term, trying to maintain their good form in the cup.

Robertswood v Butlers Court
The team started very well and had opportunities to score but just couldn’t find the back of the net. This continued as the theme for the whole first half.

Robertswood came more and more into the game and eventually they got a goal and then another. We were 2-0 down with only 10 minutes left. Butlers Court manage to pull together and scored a goal, putting a lot of pressure on the other team. Both teams then had more chances at goal. The game went into its final two minutes and Butlers Court had a great chance to equalise… and they did! The game finished 2-2 and both teams left the pitch very tired after such a tough game.

Butlers Court v Chalfont St. Peter
We fielded two teams against Chalfont St. Peter at home. A league team and a friendly team.

The friendly game saw end to end action, with both teams very good on the attack. Unfortunately, their attack was more clinical and despite the team’s best efforts we lost.

The league was very similar with end to end attacking football however both teams (to start with) struggled to score, with both sets of defence proving very strong.

However, the deadlock was broken and the goals started to come. There was some great finishing from both teams and the game finished 3-2 to Butlers Court.
