  • 2KL visit to Pizza Express

    Wed 31 Oct 2018

On Wednesday 17tOctober 2KL visited Pizza Express as part of their Italy country study. We found out about the different ingredients that are used to make a pizza, where they come from and why they are chosen. We tried different ingredients and made our own pizzas by carefully stretching the dough, adding passata sauce and topping them with creamy mozzarella cheese. We even explored the kitchen and saw our pizzas cooking in the huge ovens. The best bit was eating the pizzas we had made for our lunch. We expect that 2BG are very excited for their turn after half term!

  • Reception's First Term

    Wed 31 Oct 2018

We've enjoyed the most amazing first term in Reception and we've been very busy doing lots of exciting things. Our very first school trip was a walk along Wattleton Road where we looked closely at the different types of houses and all the different road signs and markings. We also took a walk around our school grounds looking for signs of autumn. We collected leaves, pine cones, acorns, seeds and berries which we used to make autumn pictures.

  • Harvest Festival

    Wed 31 Oct 2018

We held our annual Harvest celebration at St Mary's Church, led by Reverend Jeremy Brooks. In the afternoon the Year 3 children worked hard with our parent volunteers to deliver baskets to the senior citizens of Beaconsfield. We would like to thank everybody for their contributions.

  • Year 2 visit Beaconsfield old town and market

    Wed 31 Oct 2018

On 25th September the children from Year 2 set off to discover more about the history of their local area. We were looking for clues about the age of the town and thinking about why people might have visited here in the past. We found lots of evidence that showed us that Beaconsfield was an old coaching town where travellers used to stop on their way from Oxford to London. We then visited the market and asked people about why they visit Beaconsfield now to find out if the reasons were different. Our favourite bit of the trip was buying a delicious fresh snack from the Fruit and Vegetable stall.

  • Science Club

    Wed 31 Oct 2018
The Science cabin was finally opened to the children as both Year 4 and KS1 embarked on after school Science Clubs. On Thursdays, led by Mr Lynn the Year 4 children will be taking part in different scientific investigations that will inspire and improve their physical handling, as well as being fun! The first session encouraged pairs of children to build a tower out of dried spaghetti and marshmallows. It was a great success!

The infant children signed up and joined Scientists from the ‘Mad Science’ organisation. These exciting activities take place every Friday for 10 weeks and they have questioned and experimented on lots of activities so far.
