  • Year 5 Cup

    Fri 25 Oct 2019
For the first game in the Year 5 Cup we travelled to Gerrards Cross, despite it having been quite wet and miserable for most of the day it cleared up and we had sunshine. Gerrards Cross were in control for the first part of the game, but then we settled into it and started to find the right pass and begin some great attack play. It was an end to end game with our midfield working really hard to track back and defend and then have the energy to go and attack. Unfortunately, we finished the half 1-0 down. However, this only motivated the team to score and with some quick passing and dribbling skills we managed to have a good amount of possession and increasing opportunities to score. We managed to get the equaliser and then got the second goal which secured us the victory. It was a very interesting game to watch and great sportsmanship between the two teams.
  • Year 6 Girls' Football Tournament

    Fri 25 Oct 2019

Tuesday 15th October saw the first outing for our Year 6 Girls’ team as Butlers Court hosted the 7-a-side tournament. The team were ready and raring to go and the first game kicked off at 4pm. Working really well as a team, we defended and blocked a lot of shots, with only a couple getting through. In the second half we worked more on attack and started to create our own chances on the opposition goal. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to score. Our second game started off more promisingly, with some strong dribbling down the wings we looked a threat to score a few goals. However, all of this attack left a space at the back and they managed to get round us and score. The second half kicked off, and with more dribbling on display and the team working well in defence we continued to threaten to score. We came close on a few occasions, but the elusive goal never came. The girls all played very well and are looking forward to future matches.

  • Harvest Festival

    Fri 25 Oct 2019

We held our annual Harvest celebration at St Mary's Church, led by Reverend Jeremy Brooks.

In the afternoon the Year 3 children worked hard with our parent volunteers to deliver baskets to the senior citizens of Beaconsfield. We would like to thank everybody for their contributions.

Some of our musicians joined with Class 6BMS to add that bit extra to our harvest celebration at St Mary's Church. Our Y6 sung 2 harvest songs with enthusiasm and smiles and our advanced musicians, together with the Y4 recorder club, enhanced our hymns. Thank you to all for making the celebration that bit more special.

  • 2KL visit to Pizza Express

    Fri 25 Oct 2019

On Wednesday 16th October 2KL went to Pizza Express to make pizzas! We found out about the ingredients used to make pizza dough and enjoyed stretching the dough out to make a pizza crust. We added tomato sauce and spread it out. Alex got a lucky basil leaf! Then we sprinkled mozzarella cheese all over the base. While our pizzas were cooking we got to visit the kitchen and saw our pizzas being cooked - it only takes 3-4 minutes for a pizza to cook because the oven is so hot! When we got back to school we enjoyed eating our pizzas for lunch and later this week we will be writing instructions for how to make a pizza.

  • Reception and their 5 Senses

    Fri 25 Oct 2019

In Reception we have been learning about our five senses. We learned that some people don't have a very good sense of hearing and we decided that we could help them by using our hands to talk instead of our voices. We learned the signs for lots of different animals and then we sang Old Macdonald with our hands!

  • Year 4 - Davenies Superstar

    Fri 25 Oct 2019

On Tuesday 8th October, 10 Year 4 ventured in the rain to Davenies, to participate in the Superstar Challenge. This involved having a go at six different activities, as well as a final group game. The team were particularly good at the space hopper relay and showed skills during the basketball shooting. After the events were finished, energy was needed and fortunately pizzas and doughnuts were on hand, which everyone enjoyed. Then it was time for the presentations. All ten children tried their best at everything and their efforts paid off as they placed third out of ten local schools. Well done Butlers Court!
