  • Y5 and Y6 Netball

    Fri 24 May 2019

Our year 5 and 6 netball team took part in a tournament against many teams. We had two teams. Butlers Court 1 lost their first game to High March however won their second game 3-2 and their third game 4-0. Butlers Court 2 narrowly missed winning one of their games by losing 1-0 although there was some excellent defending by Shanaya and Charlotte.

Butlers Court 2 finished in a fantastic 8th place and Butlers Court 1 in an excellent 4th place. Thank you to Mrs Strawa and Miss Archer for organising for us to take part in the tournament.

Thank you for the following people for taking part in the tournament; Isabelle Whatling , Annie McEvoy, Shanaya Fernando, Nancy Smith-Webb, William Tackley, Audrey Wakefield, Laila Malik O’Rourke, Saidie Brown, Georgia Potts, Holly Torrome-Adams, Macy Grace Butler, Charlotte Murray, Eliana Charalambous.

  • Y3 Football Festival

    Fri 24 May 2019

Nine year 3 boys enjoyed themselves representing the school at a Year 3 Football Festival.  They started well with a 2-0 victory over Chalfont St Peter with goals from Frasier Fyfe and Ethan.  They continued well in the second game against Chesham Bois with Ellis putting us in front before conceding a late equaliser from a powerful shot.  We again took the lead through Frasier Rob in our next game against Little Chalfont before giving away a penalty and a second goal for our only defeat.  An Ellis goal put us ahead against Waterside before conceding our second penalty.  Our final game against Holmer Green was end to end with Harry making two fine saves while at the other end Billy and Ellis both went close, but were unable to score.

    SQUAD:
    BACK ROW: Tom D, Frasier R, Ellis C, Frasier F, Charlie P

FRONT ROW: Hugo W, Harry W, Billy Y, Ethan J

  • Y4 Football Festival

    Fri 24 May 2019

A heavy 15 minute downpour just before the start of the Year 4 Football Festival at Holmer Green did little to dampen the spirits of our football squad.   They started the afternoon defending well, led by Marcus, against Chalfont St Peter finishing with a 0-0 draw.  Our second game against Holmer Green saw us pushing forward more, but unable to score while Harry saved well at the other end to keep the game goal less.  Our third fixture was against Lent Rise and we started well with goals from Oli and Josh putting us 2-0 up.  Although we then conceded a goal a Jakub shot gave us a 3-1 victory.

Against Our Lady’s we conceded our second goal of the afternoon before goals  by Oli and Josh resulted in a 2-1 victory.  Our final game was against St Mary’s and we played very well with Josh, Lily, Zach and Oli all going close but a defender or the goalie got in the way of every effort and we finished with a draw.

The squad should be proud of their efforts with 2 wins and three draws from 5 games.

BACK ROW: Marcus Stollard, Armaan Bagar,  Jakub Kusmierek, Lily Pollard , Oli Nelson

FRONT ROW: Zach Saunders, Spencer Edlin, Harry Mansfield, Josh McGrath

  • Y5 Six-A-Side Competition

    Fri 24 May 2019

Our Y5 team took part in competition at St Joseph’s School against 19 other teams.  They started well with Liam and Edward scoring the goals in a 2-0 victory against Robertswood.  This was followed by a 2-0 victory over Gerrards Cross B with goals from Charlie and Edward who repeated the feat in a 2-1 victory over Chesham Bois.  The League was already won before our final fixture, a 1-1 draw with Iver Heath after Charlie opened the scoring.

The semi-final against Gateway was a tight affair with Jeremy and Henry defending well.  It was settled when Charlie took the ball down the left side and centred for Liam to place in the corner of the net.  The final was against the local team St Joseph’s with chances created by both teams at each end, but neither able to score.  The final result meant that the trophy was shared between the two sides.

    The successful squad:

BACK ROW: Henry Wendt, Saul Hiscox, Jeremy Simmonds, Ewan Baber
FRONT ROW: Charlie Village, Edward Grinhaff, Liam Cooke

  • Ducklings in EYFS

    Fri 24 May 2019

On Monday 29th April six duckling eggs were delivered to EYFS.  Our teachers set up the incubator and the brooder box and we waited to watch what would happen.  We were hoping that all of the eggs would hatch and we would have new friends in reception!

On Tuesday afternoon the eggs began to hatch; if we listened closely we could hear the ducklings ‘quacking’ to each other.  By Wednesday afternoon all six of the ducklings had hatched! At first the ducklings were quite small and sleepy, but they grew really quickly and loved having cuddles with us.
When the ducklings grew bigger we let them swim in a paddling pool in the classroom, we loved watching them dart about and dive underwater.
We kept the ducklings for two weeks, but they had to go back to the farm with the other ducks.  We hope they enjoyed their time with us.
