'Believe and Achieve Together'
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
On Wednesday 6th February 2KL and 2BG walked from school to St Mary’s church. We were greeted by the wonderful Reverend Jeremy who gave us
a tour of the church and helped us to identify the things in a church that make it a special place for Christian people.
We learned about the font, the altar, the pulpit and enjoyed looking at the stories being told in the stained glass windows.
Thank you to all the fantastic adults who came with us and to Reverend Jeremy for being so welcoming.
On Tuesday 5th February two children from each year group (who had previously scored highly in the in-school heats) travelled to Great Missenden School for the heat finals of the inter-school ‘Quiz Club’ competition. In teams of four the children answered forty challenging general knowledge questions against ten other teams from around Bucks. After over an hour of intense quizzing we were proud and delighted that Butlers Court Team 1 came in 2nd place with Butlers Court Team 2 finishing in a very respectable 6th place.
Well done to the quizzers!

We had a fantastic time creating our own birds nest using materials from behind the Science Cabin. The children were then given tweezers to mould and sculpt their creations. The children were shown pictures of real life bird nests to create a warm and sturdy structure!
Last week on Monday me and my class went to Shortenills. I had never been before and I was so excited. We stayed for four nights. It was epic!
When we were there we did things like orienteering, shelter building, trailer making, doing quizzes and pond dipping. I really enjoyed pond dipping with Albert, Martin and William, because we were really lucky to get two newts and at least twenty water boatman. We had so much fun. The food was great as well! I had an amazing time and cannot wait to go away again to Longridge.

Year 2 were very lucky on Monday 28th January as a someone from the past came to visit. Florence Nightingale dropped in to Butlers Court to tell us all about her life. We really enjoyed learning about her equipment and she showed us pictures of life in her times. She even let us dress up as soldiers and nurses, taught us a proper bedside manner and demonstrated how working in Scutari hospital was not very nice! Her visit allowed us to develop what we already knew from our Famous Faces topic and we really enjoyed travelling back in time.
